Basic Explanation of Shuttlecock Sport Rules

R U L E 5 : THE POSITIONS OF THE PLAYERS ON THE COURT 
Players of both sides should stand in their own area. The two players close to the net from left to right are called player no. 3 and player no. 2. The one close to the endline is player no. 1. The positions should remain the same as the rotation order registered.

Positions when serving: Player no. 2 and player no. 3 should be in the front of the server when serving and the distance between them should be no less than 2 m. After serving, the players of both sides can change their positions freely in their own court.

The recieving team should stand at their positions when the ball is served.

The rotation order in the court should not be adjusted until the completion of each game.
In doubles the position of the players is free.
