The European Championship of 2008 was a great moment to popularize our spectacular sport. After the EC a lot of children started to play shuttlecock. Unfortunately we have just one official club, Királyhalmi Lábtoll-labda Klub, but the 34 players coming from eight different settlements (Hajdújárás, Nosza, Palics, Horgos, Királyhalom, Szabadka, Magyarkanizsa, Ludas) - said Mr. Dobák Róbert, leader of serbian shuttlecock.

I suppose we closed a succesfull year. We regularly played in the Hungarian competitions, thanks to the Hungarian Shuttlecock Association. We obtain a better and better places. In addition we went to the French Open, the German Open and played in Mönchhof, Austria. But we organized small tournaments in our city as well.

Two times visited us Hungarian athletes from Újszász, and in December first time welcomed the Austrian team. In June and July we had local cups, where played dr. Félegyházi Péter, consul of Hungary.

Next year we would like to organize the first Serbian Open in October. We are planning a tournament in July, where would play those countries which can not take part in the world championship. And of course we will organize our traditional cups, in August the Királyhalom Cup and in December the Santa Claus Cup - said Dobák Róbert.
