This year the biggest number of participants so far took part on the 14th Hungarian Open in Újszász. 228 players from 24 clubs played on the fields.
Scotland was welcomed for the first time, and of course shuttlecocks were kicked by the well known faces from Austria, Finland, Slovakia, France, Greece, Germany, Serbia, Poland, England and naturally Hungary.
On the championship the teams of Újszászi VVSE and Nagykanizsa ZSE played the main role. The host club obtained two gold, two silver and three bronze medals.
The tournament was completed with a craftsman workshop where children made shuttlecock balls. According to the traditions the players show their art productions on the stage of the culture house. This time the championship was bound by an international sport conference, where the participants and sport experts discussed about the European Union’s White Paper on Sport.
The event was supported by the European Committee's Europe for Citizens program.
